By: Chelsea Beimfohr

Thursday morning the University of Georgia Student Government Association released this letter taking a firm stance against racial injustice. The letter comes after the University of Missouri president resigned this week amidst student protests over racial tension.

Some students didn’t agree with SGA’s stance. “I definitely didn’t feel like it necessarily spoke for my point of view or where a lot of other folks are coming from,” said UGA senior Taylor Meetz. “I felt like it was bandwagon activism, a lot of knee-jerk reaction to make sure were on the cutting edge of being politically correct so as to not offend anybody. It felt rushed.”

But other students are siding with SGA and Missouri. This afternoon a group gathered at the Tate center to take a photo raising awareness and support for students at The University of Missouri being discriminated against.
