UPDATE: Four Barrow County Schools on Lockdown, Bank Incident

Updated: According to a press release from Winder Police, near 7:54 am, at least two
suspects wearing masks, physically assaulted the driver of an armored truck as he serviced a
drive-up ATM behind the Bank of America on Broad Street in Winder.

No one was shot during the incident, but according to police, both subjects fled
the area with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No arrests have been made at this time, but multiple investigations, including the FBI, GBI and Winder Police are involved in the ongoing investigation.

Winder Police Department Police Chief Jim Fullington confirmed that there was an incident at the Bank of America in the 100 block of North Broad Street in downtown Winder, Ga.

The subject fled on foot and is still being searched for.

As a result, Winder-Barrow High School, Russell Elementary School, Winder Elementary School and the Center for Innovative Teaching were placed on lockdown. The schools are still on a soft lockdown, meaning there is no outdoor activity taking place.

Police Chief Fullington said officials are on the scene processing and does not know how much longer the schools will remain on lockdown.
