Tailgate with the Team & Jason Aldean Concert Coverage

Last night, the UGA Bulldog football team and head coach Mark Richt welcomed students out to “Tailgate with the Team”. The event was advertised as a pep rally for the UGA vs. Kentucky game this weekend. Students were surprised when a curtain onstage fell to reveal Jason Aldean and his band. At UGA’s Tailgate with the Team pep rally tonight, Head Football Coach Mark Richt announced that Jason Aldean would be the first artist to play a concert in Sanford Stadium in spring 2013. Teachers Feeling Overwhelmed After Paraprofessional Layoffs

ATHENS, Ga. — Some Athens elementary school teachers are feeling overwhelmed after a recent budget cut. The Clarke County School District laid off 48 paraprofessionals, also known as teaching assitants, and teachers are starting to feel the burden. One of these teachers is Andy Plemmons, the Media Specialist at Barrow Elementary School. Plemmons has always had a paraprofessional help run the media center, but because of school board budget cuts, she was laid off.
