Athens in Harmony

The first annual Athens in Harmony event took place at the Foundry last night. It was a night of music aimed at bringing the community together, breaking racial barriers, and promoting community policing. The event was the brain-child of Pat Priest and hosted by Athens-Clark County Police Chief Scott Freeman and local activist Mokah Jasmine Johnson. Coffee with a Cop

Athens, GA- The Athens Clarke County Police Department wants people to voice their questions and concerns in a casual setting. That’s why four Athens-Clarke County police officers met at Hendershots Coffee bar this morning for “Coffee with a Cop.” The police department began this event in 2011 but the turnout was unsuccessful. They brought back the program this year, in hopes the community would come out and meet the law enforcement officers.
