UPDATED:Two Dead in Barrow County Plane Crash

UPDATE: 2/17/7 2:28PM Shannon Ewing of Gwinnett County and nephew Henry Ewing of Jones County are the two victims of Thursday’s fatal plane crash, Captain Ryan Sears of the Barrow County Sheriff’s Department confirms. Their ages have not been released. Terry Williams, the media contact for the National Transportation Safety Board, says the investigation is still in the fact-gathering stage. They are still identifying the cause of the crash, the intended path of the plane, and any possible witnesses of the incident, Williams says. The initial report should be available in a week. Drought Affects Barrow County

The Barrow County Commission has voted to increase the non-contract wholesale water pricing in Barrow County by 25%. This is a response to the ongoing drought in the area. Barrow County Commission Chairman Pat Graham said that the price increase should have little effect on Barrow County, as all retail water pricing will remain the same, and all contracted wholesale water buyers will also keep the same prices. Barrow County Vehicles Need Repair

Only one fire truck in Barrow County has a ladder, and today, it’s having difficulties. According to John Skinner, the county’s Emergency Services Director, the truck’s engine troubles have put it out of commission for 80 days out of the past year. The truck was originally estimated to last until 2020, but now the vehicle may have to be replaced much sooner. Husband Arrested for Wife’s Murder

A Barrow County man sits in jail charged with the murder of his wife. Barrow County Sheriff’s investigators arrested 36-year old Kevin Richard Harrison for the murder of 29-year old Heather Marie Harrison. According to a press release from The Barrow Sheriff’s Office, Kevin Harrison called 911 stating that his wife was accidentally shot at their residence at 763 Moss Side Drive in Bethlehem. BREAKING: Barrow County child molester gets life sentence

A Barrow County man was sentenced to life without parole Wednesday afternoon for molesting children as young as 2 years old. Richard Paltrineri, 64, plead guilty to 27 child molestation charges. Police said they identified at least seven juvenile victims during the course of their investigation, both boys and girls, of ages ranging from 2 to 13. Paltrineri was arrested on March 20 by the Barrow Sheriff’s Office. According to authorities, Paltrineri’s wife operated the state-licensed home day care facility SusanSilly Expressions Pre-School Program in Auburn.
