Investigation Update: Barrow County Deadly Plane Crash

UPDATE 3/2 10:23 p.m. – A preliminary report released Thursday into a plane crash that killed two people last month in Barrow County reveals “no evidence of any inflight structural failure.” The report from the National Transportation Safety Board adds that the NTSB is still in possession of the wreckage for further examination. UPDATED:Two Dead in Barrow County Plane Crash

UPDATE: 2/17/7 2:28PM Shannon Ewing of Gwinnett County and nephew Henry Ewing of Jones County are the two victims of Thursday’s fatal plane crash, Captain Ryan Sears of the Barrow County Sheriff’s Department confirms. Their ages have not been released. Terry Williams, the media contact for the National Transportation Safety Board, says the investigation is still in the fact-gathering stage. They are still identifying the cause of the crash, the intended path of the plane, and any possible witnesses of the incident, Williams says. The initial report should be available in a week. DDS Systems Back Up

If you’re worried about getting stuck in a long line this week at the Department of Driver Services, no worries. Systems were down statewide last weekend, but the local Athens office is back up and running. As of Tuesday morning, lines were low.   The Athens office says there is still no word on what caused the statewide system crash at Georgia Department of Driver Services locations. Online video reportedly shows Agnes Kim talking for first time after horrific spring accident

ATLANTA — A video posted on a crowdfunding website Monday reportedly shows UGA student Agnes Kim talking for the first time after a deadly car accident in in April. According to posts on the site, Kim was in a coma for more than a month after the accident and is currently undergoing care at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. Car Accident with Fatality on Orkin Dr.

30 year old Joshua Davin Lynn of Eric Way of Bogart is dead after his car crashed into a tree in Bogart, GA. According to an Athens-Clarke County Police press release, the 2016 Ford Fiesta was west bound on Orkin Dr. near the Dozer Dr. intersection around 3 a.m. today, when it crossed over the median, left the road, and struck a large tree. Emergency medical personnel transported the driver to Athens Regional Medical Center, where he later died.
