UPDATE: UGA football player Trenton Thompson withdraws from classes

ATHENS, Ga. — University of Georgia defensive tackle Trenton Thompson is withdrawing from classes this semester at UGA after being released from Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital. A police report filed today indicated Thompson was found by police officials late Wednesday night wandering in the street on River Road on UGA campus. After determining that Thompson was “behaving incoherently”, the officer contacted Emergency Medical Services. Police asked Thompson what medication he had taken. He claimed he had taken “two oxies.” Thompson returned home after being rushed to the hospital Wednesday evening. A…

Sanford Stadium to Undergo $63 Million in Renovations

ATHENS, Ga. –The University of Georgia Athletic Association announced at its quarterly meeting on Tuesday that Sanford Stadium will undergo hefty renovations starting in April, pending discussion with the University System of Georgia Board of Regents on March 15 in Atlanta.   Athens, GA- The UGA softball team got the better of an in-state rival Wednesday night, as they defeated the Georgia State Lady Panthers by a score of 8-0 in 5 innings. Pitcher Kylie Bass went the distance for the Lady Dawgs tossing a two-hit shutout. The Dawgs were also active at the plate, tallying 13 hits on the night.
