Proposal Suggests Changing Downtown Parking

Athens, GA-  Swerving around parked vehicles sticking out in the street is dangerous, and this is a danger that the Athens Downtown Development Authority wants to change. Athens-Clarke County Board of Commisions has received a proposal to change parking downtown. They’re trying to prohibit vehicles over 17 feet long from parking on Broad Street. If a vehicle passes a marked line on the street, they will get a parking ticket. We will have an update if this passes after the next commission meeting.
