Athens, GA- Waffles, hash browns, and coffee… All free to the fans of the winning team for the Georgia vs. Auburn game this weekend. This is the second year in a row for the “Waffle Wager.” It started out as a friendly bet between two food providers over the Alabama vs. Texas A&M game last year. The bet is on this year for the Georgia vs. Auburn game, and we will find out on Saturday which city will win the “Waffle Wager.” Reporter Michael Foo is at the Clayton Street Waffle House to find out they’re preparing for a UGA win!

Athens, GA- Bike lights could save your life this winter! Local groups are teaming up to add a light to bikes this season. Local Athens stores, like The Hub Bicycles, will tell you how important these lights really are. Reporter Jordan Lee puts on the helmet and hops on a bike to show you the dangers of riding.

Jackson County, GA- The Commerce Fire Department is giving away free smoke alarms to single mothers or those 65 years and older who own their own home. 300 smoke alarms were purchased with money raised from fundraisers. To get one you just have to give the fire department a call and make an appointment. They have installed about 40 so far, and will be giving them out as long as people need them.

Barrow County, GA- The Barrow County Public Safety Radio System will improve. Last night Barrow County Commissioners voted to use several million dollars to improve this system. In the past and currently it’s difficult for responders to communicate with each other, due to bad service. The improvement is supposed to fix that. Reporter Allison Aulds speaks with Sheriff Jud Smith to show you the importance of this radio.
