WINDER, GA – There’s a new leader in Chee nation. Apalachee high school has named Steve Sims the new head football coach of the wildcats. Steve Sims was hired after an impressive stint as the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach for the Norcross Blue Devils, helping lead his old team to back-to-back state championships in 2012 and 2013.

Coach Sims says he plans on starting with the youth leagues in Barrow County, to start building the necessary relationships to grow his football program.The Wildcats carried an 18-game losing streak late into the 2014 season before finally getting a win over Cedar Shoals on Oct. 31.
