ATHENS, Ga- Smiles may be a little brighter today at Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School. The Help A Child Smile Dental Van made their third visit of the year to the middle school to help clean students teeth. This traveling dental van stopped here to checkup on 50 students teeth this morning.

The van has been coming to Clarke County schools for several years. The Principal’s secretary Sevelda Crumpton says a lot of the students who visit the van have been a part of this since elementary school and continued into middle school.

Principal Melanie Sigler says these are services they may not get otherwise. “Our school is 93% free and reduced lunch. Very high poverty rate. This is huge for our school.”

The Help a Child Smile Van visits schools all over Georgia. Anchor Alison Menhart tells you about this organization and their mission today at 5p.m. on Grady Newsource.
