Greyson Lambert Sets Two Records Against South Carolina

By: Connor Riley

Greyson Lambert’s performance on Saturday night didn’t just appease concerns about how good of a quarterback he could be. It also put him in the record book.

Lambert completed 24 of his 25 passing attempts against South Carolina, setting a new NCAA record for completion percentage in a single game with a minimum of 20 passing attempts. Lambert’s 96 percent bested Tee Martin and Geno Smith’s mark of 95.8 percent mark. Martin completed 23 of 24 passes against South Carolina in 1998.

Lambert also set a school record for consecutive completions as he connected on his final 20 passes of the night. The former record-holder was Mike Bobo, who completed 19 consecutive passes against Wisconsin in the 1998 Outback Bowl. Bobo was the offensive coordinator at Georgia from 2007-2014. He left this offseason to become the head coach at Colorado State.

Head coach Mark Richt was in a joking mood while talking about his current quarterback and former offensive coordinator.
