  • Historian, scholar and Emmy Award winner Henry Louis Gates Jr. will speak today at 3 p.m. at the Morton Theatre. The  event is free but seating is limited to the first 500 guests.
  • There’s a new top dawg at the University of Georgia. Que will be collared as Uga X at the Georgia Southern game.

  • Corey Antwan Blount was found guilty of all 11 charges including malice murder and felony murder. No date has been set for his sentencing trial.
  • Roger Wehunt is the newest commissioner in Barrow County. The county commission meeting on Tuesday night marks the first meeting Wehunt will sit in on.
