Stachies for Nashies

Mustaches grace the faces of many of the UGA cross country team members this week. They are growing just in time for Regionals in Tuscaloosa, Ala. this weekend.

Steven Spevacek, a senior distance runner, has helped carry Georgia to Nationals three of the last four years.

Georgia cross country last won Regionals just two years ago by one point – on the same track they will race on Friday.

Thirty plus teams will run 10k instead of the usual 8k during the season. Georgia is expected to finish third in Regionals with only the top two teams advancing to Nationals next weekend in Kentucky.

The men’s and women’s cross country team begin their races at 11 a.m. Eastern time in Tuscaloosa on Friday.
