ATHENS, Ga. — The road ahead of the Georgia Bulldogs is not an easy one.  After dropping a disappointing loss to Clemson on April 5, the schedule ahead of them does not look promising.

“We didn’t play very well, and I think coach [Monte] Lee will say they didn’t play very well early on,” said Head Coach Scott Stricklin.

Neither Clemson not Georgia played their best game as errors and wild pitches plagued both teams. The two teams could have prevented five runs if it wasn’t for sloppy play.  During the game there were four hit batsman and 17 walks between Clemson and Georgia.

“[You have to be] aggressive in the strike zone. You can’t walk guys. I think we walked nine guys tonight, so if you walk nine guys you have no chance to win.”

The Bulldogs will need to improve their pitching if they have any chance of winning in these upcoming games.Screen Shot 2016-04-06 at 3.27.01 PM

First they travel to College Station to play No. 6 Texas A&M who lead in almost every offensive category in the Southeastern Conference.  Then their next big test is No. 8 South Carolina in Columbia who boasts the best ERA in the SEC.  The schedule continues to be tough as they take on No. 12 Clemson again, No. 1 Florida, Georgia Tech, No. 2 Vanderbilt and No. 18 Ole Miss.

The only break Georgia gets in the month of April is Georgia Tech who is a historic baseball power, producing MLB stars such as Nomar Garciaparra, Jason Varitek and Mark Teixeira.  Though Georgia Tech is not ranked it boast a team average of .314 which would be second highest batting average on the UGA team as of today.
