Tuition to Stay Same for Georgia Students

Students enrolled at University System of Georgia institutions can breathe a sigh of relief. The Board of Regents voted unaniomously on Wednesday to keep tuition rates the same at all affiliated colleges and universities.

“We are committed to making college affordable for Georgians,” Chancellor Hank Huckaby said in a press release.

The Board also approved a 20% decrease in the cost of eMajor credit hours. The eMajor initiative
offers students the opportunity to complete certain associate’s and bachelor’s degrees online.

The Board’s decision to keep current tuition rates where they are follow some hefty increases last year. Thirty USG institutions saw increases of at least 2.5%. Tuition at University of Georgia and the Georgia Institute of Technology increased 9%.
