The University of Georgia plays its first home game of the season this Saturday against the Nicholls State Colonels. Here are five things you need to know about Nicholls State before Saturdays game.
- Two of the team’s players were featured on Netflix’s series “Last Chance U.” Ronald Ollie and Marcel Andry are expected to play during Saturday’s game.
- This is only Head Coach Tim Rebowe’s second season.
- Nicholls State has around 5,700 students, compared to UGA’s 36,130.
- It is ranked #42 in top public schools according to U.S. News and World Report.
- Two of Nicholls State players played high school football with UGA’s own Michael Chigbu in Louisiana.
The Georgia Bulldogs take on the Nicholls State Colonels this Saturday September 10 at noon.

Nicholls is #42 in southern regional public schools, not all public schools. Big difference. Another fun fact — it’s often called Harvard on the Bayou, but not by anyone associated with, ya know, Harvard. More of a local joke in Thibodeaux, La.
