There are reports of people trying to use counterfeit money on purchases at local businesses. There were two reports in Oconee County last week. Two counterfeit twenty-dollar bills passed through a Dollar General in Bogart, and a Bank South on Macon Highway received a counterfeit 100-dollar bill. The U.S. Department of Treasury has a list of what to do if you come across a counterfeit bill here.
