Staying Safe While Grocery Shopping
The CDC has released several steps to keep in mind while you’re out running essential errands. Grady Newsource reporter Emma Goldsmith tells us more on how to stay safe while grocery shopping.
Some grocery stores in the Athens area are also putting several precautions in place to protect their employees and their shoppers.
The Daily Groceries Co-Op over on Prince Avenue, for example, is currently not allowing any customers inside the store, but they are continuing to do curbside pick-up for groceries. Kara Brown, the co-op’s general manager, said a lot of their employees are wearing masks, and they regularly disinfect surfaces all over the store.
Coordinating with their national policies, the Trader Joe’s over on Epps Bridge Parkway is also using precautions, such as limiting the number of customers allowed inside the store at a time, providing personal protective equipment for their employees, and monitoring proper social distancing inside the space.
Cooking Once Your Groceries Are Home
When you go to the grocery, be sure and buy only what your family needs for two weeks.
So, what should you make? Maybe you want to try new recipes or maybe you would rather keep it simple and stick to what you know. One keeps things interesting, while the other provides comfort.

My sister and I are planning to go on grocery shopping this week, which is why we’re currently looking for a shopping cart anti-germ liner bag. Thank you for suggesting here that freezing the slices of bread will help preserve it for six months; therefore, we won’t have to go back to the grocery store right away. We’ll also keep in mind to purchase the items that will be needed for two weeks tops.
