ATHENS — Athens-Clarke County Police released photos of two robbery suspects today.

The photographs show the suspects at a BP gas station in Gainesville, Georgia. The victim describes the men as tall white males wearing blue jeans, dark shirts and caps.

Police say the men stole 79 year-old victim Ray Majors’ gym bag containing a black and silver Ruger semi-automatic pistol.

The police report notes Majors who did not know the men gave them a ride from Gainesville to an Athens residence off Maple Forge Drive. Upon their arrival at the house, one of the suspects grabbed Majors’ bag and ran inside the house.

Police Sergeant Jeff Clark says “(police) are in the process of showing photo lineups to the clerk and also the victim.”

If anyone has any information, Athens-Clarke County Police can be reached at 706-613-3888
