School Program to Expose Kids to Higher Education

Clarke County, GA – Clarke County Schools is teaming up with UGA to have yearly field trips to UGA’s campus for all grades. The program hopes to expose students to higher education.

“Having this exposure to college is a way to get students thinking about their future on a college campus,” Director of Experience UGA Claire Coenen said.

Clarke County Schools have a 69.5% graduation rate, which is two points lower than the state average. Over the past 5 years, however, that rate has been rising.

The goal of the program is to have students in the program visit UGA every year from elementary school all the way up through high school.

The first trip is next week to Grady College.
