Athens-Clarke County Looks for New Board Members

ATHENS — Athens-Clarke County Unified Government is looking for people to serve terms on five policy-making boards.

The following boards are looking for new members:

-The Airport Authority is seeking one position with a four-year term. The applicant should live within five miles of Ben Epps Airport.

-The Classic Center Authority is in need of two people for four-year terms.

-The Hearings Board is looking for two positions. One is for a four-year term and the other is a partial term that ends June 30, 2016.

-The Historic Preservation Commission has three positions with three-year terms.

-The Planning Commission is looking for two positions. One is a five-year term and the other is partial term that ends June 30, 2018.

Interested applicants should be registered to vote and live in Athens-Clarke County. Applications can be filled out online or picked up from the Clerk of Commission’s Office in Room 204 of City Hall.

The deadline for applications is Friday, April 17.
