Athens Solid Waste Department Suggests Bars Change to Cans

Athens Solid Waste Department poses bars to change from glass beer bottles to aluminum cans. The department is offering incentives for bars that will switch.

In 2017, Downtown Health and Safety study found glass bottles as a hazards to customers, emergency responders and to solid waste employees.

Athens City Government offers bar owners an incentive to make changes from glass bottled beer to can beers.
