Athens, GA- A local software engineer, Josh Phillips, offers classes to anyone who wants to learn how to build their own 3D printer. The classes ran through October and more are expected to begin in November, however classes are scheduled based on the number of people who sign up. So far Phillips has not had any interest. He says that 3d printing is an expensive hobby and that could explain the lack of interest. Classes are held at the FourAthens office location on Dougherty St. With a smile, Phillips said that his 3D printer is better than the Makerbot brand, it just takes some getting used too. Makerbot printers are being sold at Home Depot now.
