Local elected officials are experimenting with a new way to keep you informed. The Jackson County Schools Board of Education has figured out a way to help parents feel less in the dark…by using Facebook Live.

Tonight Jackson County School System Board of Education will be using Facebook Live for the first time at a Board of Education meeting. Jackson County Schools might’ve found a way to help parents balance staying informed and simply…being parents at home or at their children’s football practice.

Other agencies such as the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government have used Facebook Live and even Periscope. According to their Public Information Officer, several plans to use one of the two–if not both–will occur in the near future.
