Valentine’s Day is approaching, so now is the time to figure out what you are going to do with that special someone on Feb. 14. We compiled a list of events around Athens for you to check out.

Chocolate and Wine Tasting at J’s Bottle Shop

Location: 1452 Prince Avenue, Athens, GA 30606

Get a taste of Athens’ own Condor Chocolates and pair it with wine from J’s Bottle Shop. The chocolate and wine tasting is from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday night. In case you need any extra motivation to check this out, attendees will receive a complimentary box of Condor Truffles.


Ice Skating at the 404 Foundry Pavilion

Location: 440 Foundry Street, Athens, GA 30601 

Sharpen your skates, or just rent some from the Classic Center, and spin around on the ice with your significant other. Public ice skating is from Monday through Thursday 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday and Thursday there is also public skating from 7 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., and there is a special adult public skate on Valentine’s Day from 9 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.


Magnolia’s Second Annual Puppy Love Party

Location: 312 East Broad Street, Athens, GA 30601

Grab your date and your dog and head to Magnolia’s for the Second Annual Puppy Love Party. There will be dogs from the Athens Area Humane Society to play with while you enjoy drinks. Specialty beverages and drink deals will be provided in partnership with Diageo. There will also be prizes raffled off, and the benefits will go to the Athens Area Humane Society. The event is from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Thursday night.


Valentine’s Dinner at the Botanical Garden

Location: 2450 South Milledge Avenue, Athens, GA 30605 

Enjoy dinner in a tropical conservatory at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia on Thursday night. Tickets include dinner for two with live piano music, and every couple will receive a blooming orchid plant. There are two seatings for the event, one at 5:30 p.m. in the Gardenside Room, and one at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Room.


Valentine’s at the Graduate Athens

Location: 295 East Dougherty Street, Athens, GA 30601

Have dinner at the Graduate Athens and enjoy a show from the Athens A-Train Band. Tickets include a four-course meal for two and reserved seating. Tickets can also be purchased for just the show. The event is Thursday night from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.
