Suicide causes more deaths in youth than homicide across the nation.

U-G-A student Rebecca Greene’s body was found on a cold Tuesday in November last year. The cause of death….suicide. Unfotuntately Greene’s story is an all too familiar one on college campus across the country.

Dr. Betsy Stewart with Advantage Behavioural Health says suicide rates are high among young people. According to save.org, it is the third leading cause of death among 15-25 year olds– tonight Dr. Stewart has advice she wants all people struggling with depression to hear.

When someone commits suicide– the impact is felt well beyond family or friends.

But Dr. Stewart says it doesn’t have to. With increased awareness and communication we can all help out a friend in their darkest hour.
