ATHENS, GA- April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and groups in Athens are stepping up their game to spread the word. The Women’s Studies Student Organization is throwing a block party Friday April 18, 2014 called “Take Back the Night.” There will be speakers and performances, with the evening ending with a candle light vigil at the arch downtown.

The Cottage is a safe place that helps victims of sexual assault. They also participate in the event, as well as fundraise throughout the onto of April.
