Preliminary unemployment rates (September 2015):

The unemployment rate in Georgia dropped to 5.8% for the month of September from 5.9% in August. It still remains above the national average which remains at 5.1%.

The rates in the display above are preliminary and may be subject to change once the October unemployment rates are released next month. They were confirmed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

How much unemployment rates dropped since August 2015:

Barrow County – 2%

Clarke County – 1.6%

Jackson County – 2.2%

Madison County – 1.9%

Oconee County – 2.3%

Oglethorpe County – 5.5%

September 2014 vs. September 2015

Compared to September of last year almost each listed county’s unemployment rate dropped by about one percentage point. The display below shows what this looks like:
