UGA men’s basketball team plays Armstrong Atlantic on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Stegeman Coliseum

UGA football team will kick off at noon in Sanford Stadium against the University of Kentucky

Music and Arts

Loudon Wainwright III performs at The Foundry Thursday at 8 p.m.

Poetry reading by Jeffrey Harrison at Cine on Thursday at 7 p.m.

The UGA Opera Theatre presents Franz Lehár’s “The Merry Widow” on Thursday and Friday in Hodgson Concert Hall at 8 p.m.

University Theatre will perform “You Cant Take it With You” at the Fine Arts Theatre on Friday at 8 p.m.

Eureka California, Fake Flowers, Superbody, and Femignome will play at the 40 Watt Club on Friday at 8 p.m.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will perform at the UGA Performing Arts Center on Sunday at 3 p.m.

Dawgs for Dogs Barcrawl to benefit Athens Humane Society will begin at Magnolia’s at 9 p.m. on Thursday.

Fall Festival at the Georgia Botanical Gardens on Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Harvest for the Homeless at the Classic Center, benefitting Athens Area Homeless Shelter, will take place on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

36th Annual Harvest Festival in Downtown Toccoa is on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Trivia at the  west side Blind Pig on Sunday at 6 p.m.
