Watkinsville, GA – The Oconee County Sheriff’s office honored the late deputy David Gilstrap at a dedication ceremony at 9:30 AM this morning. Giltrap was killed on duty six years ago today.  Reporter Krissy Robinson tells us more about the ceremony, and the new naming of the “Deputy David Gilstrap Memorial Highway”.

Athens, GA – The Billups Grove Baptist Church off of Lexington Highway says they are concerned about the expansion of a landfill near their church. Reporter Briana Belser has more details about this landfill that is already causing people to move out of their homes.

Athens, GA – Prince Avenue has been audited by the Georgia Department of Transportation and Athens-Clarke County concerning pedestrian safety. Leslie Hauler has more information about the audit and the concerns for safety on the road.

Jefferson, GA – The Jackson County High School will honor one of their past football players Odell Collins, who passed away in January. Collins played football for Jackson County and went on to play for UGA in 1995. Sports Reporter Ashley Jetton tells us more about Collins and his football career at Jackson County.

Athens, GA – Hong Kong is currently experiencing many protests in their country, mostly from college students, concerning their Government. The movement, now known as the “Umbrella Movement”, is protesting for a more democratic election system. Reporter Russell Abad talks with students at UGA from Hong Kong and gives us their reactions to the protests happening in their home country.
