UGA Mens Basketball set to begin the season

Athens, Ga-The UGA Men’s Basketball squad will kick off their season tomorrow in an exhibition game against Georgia Southwestern. This will be the first game since the Dawgs fell in the National Invitational Tournament last March to Louisiana Tech. The Dawgs come into the season with one of the most experienced teams in the SEC. They return guards Charles Mann, J.J. Frazier, and Kenny Gaines who all played major roles in last year’s 12-6 record in the conference. Seniors Marcus Thornton and Nemanja Djurisic will anchor the team under the basket this season. This exhibition game will get the Dawgs geared up for their opening game in Atlanta against their bitter rivals Georgia Tech next Friday. Coach Mark Fox says the team has something to prove after a successful season last year.  Free admission will be given to all fans who attend the game tomorrow night.
