Nature Program Brings Babies, Animals Together

ATHENS, GA –  Babies and Beasties is a program that teaches toddlers about animals and nature. It meets at the Sandy Creek Nature Center. The kids get to build binoculars for birdwatching, go find the birds, and build nests from pine straw. Amy McElveen brings her children to the program, and she says that she enjoys getting to watch her kids have fun and learn about nature from an expert.

Kate Mowbray teaches the children at the program. She says she likes to see the kids engaging in nature and becoming more comfortable with animals.

“I just love seeing the reactions of the kids,” Mowbray says.
