UGA Students Gain Business Experience Through Couture a la Cart

ATHENS — University of Georgia students in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department are getting the chance to put their entrepreneurial skills into action.

These students sell these products from a converted golf cart they call Couture a la Cart. Most products on sale are student made. Interested  customers  can purchase anything from shirts and shorts to arts and crafts like dreamcatchers. The proceeds from sales go mostly to the maker of the goods.

Until the end of the semester, the cart is open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dawson on Tuesdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays at the lawn of Tate Student Center.

Reporter Aaron Jones is examining how students learn to start their own business. Find out more tonight at 5 p.m.

UGA student Brittany Savoie thinks the experience is a valuable way to get the hands-on training she needs to be an entrepreneur.
