UGA Service Checks Personal Computers for Viruses

UPDATE:

10:00 am —  Reporter Steven Farmer interviews EITS public relations specialist Sarah Pauff and EITS employee Sarah Knutt at the computer health and security fair.

Athens, GA — The University of Georgia Enterprise Information Technology Services [EITS] is hosting a computer health and security fair in the Zell B. Miller Learning Center. Located on the second floor rotunda, volunteers will work with students and faculty who want to get a free security check on their computer and that will remove malware and other viruses.

EITS public relations specialist Sarah Pauff says that the main threats that students and teachers on campus have to prepare for are malware programs.

EITS employee Sarah Knutt volunteered at the fair today and agrees with Pauff. She recommends that computer users use a program called malware bytes to get rid of malicious software on their computers.

The EITS computer health and security fair will continue tomorrow from 10 am to 3 pm. The checks take thirty minutes to an hour to finish, so make sure you have before going.
