Pools of Water Form Around UGA’s Campus

ATHENS — It’s raining outside to say the least. Student meteorologist Molly McCollum stepped into several puddles around the University of Georgia’s campus.

Then, she found this pool.

Athens has seen more than half of an inch of rain already and could see additional amounts tonight between 0.10-0.25 inches tonight.

Northeast Georgia could have a few isolated thunderstorms before 10 p.m. mainly turning into showers afterwards.

Lows tonight will be much cooler with temperatures in the low to mid 50’s. Tomorrow will be cooler than normal as well with temperatures in the low 60’s. There could be few showers throughout the day tomorrow, but it won’t be a complete washout.

Friday will be mostly dry with a few scattered thunderstorms possible. The wet pattern will continue throughout the weekend and into early next week with next Tuesday being the first dry day in over a week.
