Athens Crime

According to Athens Clarke County Police, shots were fired last night in the Bethel Homes area behind the downtown district. Police are still looking for the person responsible today. No one was shot in the incident. We’ll have updates about this case to come. 

SGA Elections

It is the last day of voting for the SGA election and voting closes today at 5pm. The results-barring a runoff will be announced at 5:30pm at the Flagpole at Tate. The winning ticket will be SGA’s 29th administration and will be inaugurated at the Chapel on April 18, 2016 at 6pm. Reporter Corey Knapp will keep you updated on voting and the final results tonight. 

Cyber Attack

Barrow County Schools was hit by a cyber attack on Tuesday morning. This attack was similar to the attack on the University of Georgia on Sunday. Both the University of Georgia and Barrow County schools use the same internet provider. Reporter Brett Homer will update you on how this happened and how the internet providers plan to prevent this in the future.

Sports

The Georgia track and field team travels to the Florida Relays this weekend. This past weekend at the Georgia Tech Invitational, Maurice Freeman ran the national leading 400m time. Freeman will go up against some of the best in the NCAA. Reporter Zak Huberty brings you a one-on-one interview with the fastest 400m runner in the NCAA right now.
