UPDATE: Man Still on Loose After Convenience Store Shooting

HULL, Ga.– A suspect in a shooting at the Golden Pantry Convenience Store at 8874 US-29 in Hull, Georgia is still on the loose.

Law enforcement are still searching for Steven Michael Harper, 42 of Hull, Georgia. Harper fled the scene in what is believed to be a blue, mid-to-late 80s Chevrolet truck.

Just before 7 a.m., Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the scene to find a 29-year old woman had been shot in the leg. The victim is a store clerk at the Golden Pantry and acquaintance of Harper. She was shot in front of the gas pumps outside of the store.

Lieutenant Patton of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office says the wound was not life threatening. She is in stable condition at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation with the help of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
