The Lead is a podcast hosted and produced by Charlotte Norsworthy in the Cox Institute for Journalism Innovation, Management & Leadership at the University of Georgia. We talk about how to get ahead in the media industry by interviewing the people who did.

Somehow we have made it near the end of the fall semester and the end of Season 5 of The Lead. Six episodes later, I have learned so much about podcasting and various ways to continue improving the quality of this podcast. From losing files to editing on airplanes, my love-hate relationship with technology only strengthens. But, being able to share the moments I share with some incredible media leaders makes it more than worth it.

I am so excited to end the season with such a special episode as this. Dink and Eric NeSmith are based in Athens, but they are actually originally from my neck of the woods in southeast Georgia. They had their start in Jesup, and I graduated from high school in the neighboring town of Hinesville.

So, essentially, here is an interview with my neighbors. We talked about the power of community newspapers, which is conveniently the name of their media company.

I’ll be back in January with more, but for now, give this a listen.
