UGA Summer Classes Are Beneficial to Students in Multiple Ways

Athens, GA–
Spring semester is almost over but summer classes are available during May through August. Chelsea Anderson found out why students can benefit from summer school.

With more and more students coming to UGA, classrooms can become crammed and it can be difficult to find the classes you need. Because of financial stress, Students are constantly searching for ways to finish their degree on time. Tracey Reise says summer school is the solution to these problems.

“We wanted to give students more of an opportunity… during the normal academic year.”

Classes during the summer are smaller and have a more relaxed atmosphere. Some students have better grades because of the different conditions. You still get the traditional college feel but in a smaller class environment. Professors also have more of an opportunity to work one on one with their students.

”I really get to know… it’s a more personal feel”

Students who wish to to go home for the summer have the opportunity to take online classes during the summer.

Hope and other scholarships apply to summer classes and housing and dining stay the same as it would during the fall and spring semesters.

The deadline to sign up for a Maymester is May 13th.
