Students in Entertainment Reporting this semester used visual storytelling skills to report on the Backlight Student Film Festival, documenting the event through photography, videography and social media.

In partnership with the festival, students accessed finalist screeners to view and prepare for a variety of reporting. Their work included two broadcasts of the Grady Night Shift, the College’s first-ever late-night entertainment news show, as well as red carpet photographs and interviews.

This gallery features a few of the images created by the photography team: Emily Adams, Kate Martinez, Miraal Siddiqui, Tyler Addison, Vaughan Stout and Wesley Branch. Course instructor Dr. Andrea Hudson led the class and compiled the gallery.

The Night Shift’s coverage, produced with Prof. Dodie Cantrell-Bickley’s Experiential Learning students, is available on Newsource’s YouTube channel.
