DEVELOPING STORY: Body Found in Jackson County Park Creek

UPDATE: No immediate trauma was found in the autopsy, according to a GBI social media post. The deceased male still has not been named, but the GBI says identification will most likely be released next week.

A body found in a Jackson County park is on its way to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy, according to a statement released by the GBI.

A visitor found the body in a Sells Mills Park creek on Jackson Trail Road shortly after noon on Oct. 11, the statement says. Jackson County Deputies confirmed the discovery. The identity of the deceased has not been released.
