Evans hits UGA volleyball milestone, sets stage for season

Georgia volleyball coach Tom Black gathers his team around a whiteboard and begins to explain practice.

The players listen intently and disperse to the surrounding courts, and the gym is suddenly filled with the sound of bouncing volleyballs. On the middle court, the only player in red takes her stance, standing out not just because of her appearance, but also her performance.

Senior Kacie Evans, who reached her 1,000th kill in the team’s first tournament of the year, provides a glimpse into her career and the season ahead for Georgia volleyball.

Hana Takamatsu is a student majoring in journalism at the University of Georgia.
