Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis returned to work Monday morning, amidst a fury of media and chants from supporters.

Davis spent five days in jail last week after refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, according to CNN. U.S. Congressman Jody Hice (R- Monroe) voiced his support for Davis last week in a statement to the AJC.

Hice will speak at the Athens GOP meeting Monday night, set to begin at 6 p.m. at the Country Inn & Suites on Old Epps Bridge Road in Athens.
