ATHENS, Ga–

Teams around the area are now deep into region play. They are at the point in the season where every game matters. Four games in particular could have a big impact on the region standings.

The Cedar Shoals Jaguars have an off week on Friday. However, they are gearing up for next week’s big game against 18th ranked Buford. The Jaguars are 3-3 on the season and they are facing a very good Buford team with only one loss so far this season.  Buford’s latest win is against Clarke Central.

The Clarke Central Gladiators will travel to Loganville tomorrow for a 7:30 matchup. The Gladiators are 3-3 so far this season and 1-1 in the region. Loganville is coming off three consecutive blowout wins. Coach Perno and his offense are going to have to find a way to penetrate this solid Loganville defense.

Athens Christian will host rival George Walton Academy tomorrow night. Defense is the name of the game for both of these teams. The Eagles are allowing an average of 12.2 points per game and Georgia Walton is only allowing an average of 10.4.

The Athens Academy Spartans will travel to Dacula tomorrow to face the Hebron Christian Academy Lions. The Spartans will have some momentum going into this week because they’re coming off their largest victory this season over Riverside. They are however, going up against an undefeated Hebron team. So this region game is a must-win for each team.
