ATLANTA — Today is Opening Day for the Atlanta Braves and for most teams in Major League Baseball.
Atlanta will travel to Miami to play a three-game series against the Miami Marlins. Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez is giving the ball to ace pitcher Julio Teheran.
Teheran posted a 14-13 record last season to compliment his 2.89 ERA.
The Braves will be without one of the most intimidating pitchers in the MLB. On Sunday, Atlanta sent closer Craig Kimbrel and outfielder Melvin Upton to the Sand Diego Padres for Carlos Quentin, Cameron Maybin and top pitching prospect Matt Wisler as well as the 41st overall pick in this year’s draft.
First pitch for today’s game is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. in Miami.
