Potential Increase In Jackson County Property Taxes

Jefferson, GA–Jackson County residents may have to keep an eye out for a potential change in their taxes. County commissioners are planning to increase property taxes by nearly 10.5 to 11 percent. This could be the second year in a row property taxes in Jackson County go up to balance the budget.

Residents have the chance to let their voices be heard regarding this proposed property tax increase by attending the next public hearing tonight at 6p.m. at the Jackson County Court House. The final hearing is next Monday, and the county commissioners will take a vote then.
