The Oconee County Board of Education is redistricting neighborhoods to prepare for the opening of a new elementary school in the county.

Dove Creek Elementary school is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2018. A redistricting plan was proposed last night at the Board of Education meeting to bring all Oconee County elementary schools to building capacity. The new plan would affect students at both Malcom Bridge Elementary School and Rocky Branch Elementary School. In the plan, all streets west of Highway 78 are rezoned for the new Dove Creek Elementary School.

The Board of Education encourages parents to attend a Listening Session on the proposed redistricted plan to voice their questions and concerns. That meetings scheduled for Tuesday, October 10th at 6 p.m. at North Oconee High School.
