Both Bethell and St.Mary’s ORN Circulator Heather Cadwell said that this will allow for more appointments and for the surgeons to get more patient experience with the machine.

Athens Regional Medical Center acquired the robot early April and have scheduled surgeries to begin late April. The robot is currently only open to center surgeries at the surgeons discretion such as gynecology, urology, thoracic, cardiac.

Athens Regional Medical Center staff and nurses said had the opportunity to become familiar with the robot by playing a competitive game of operation. Nurses and staff filled the room with excitement and fun while playing with the robot.
