The Lead is a podcast hosted and produced by Charlotte Norsworthy in the Cox Institute for Journalism Innovation, Management & Leadership at the University of Georgia. We talk about how to get ahead in the media industry by interviewing the people who did.

Here we are at the end of Season 6 of The Lead Podcast. It has been such an honor to host the podcast this academic year. If my time in podcasting thus far has taught me anything, it’s that nothing beats learning by doing. I cannot count how many times I winged it, failed, lost entire interviews or said “trial and error,” but it was all worth it.

This brings me to what’s next for me. Usually, I would be introducing you to the next host of the podcast. However, I am so excited to be sticking around for next year as I will be attending Grady as a master’s student. This summer, Dr. Keith Herndon and I will also be co-editing a book on news leadership, featuring episodes from the first six seasons of the podcast. I am so grateful for the growth the podcast has seen this year and how I was able to be a part of that.

Exciting things to come, but for now, give our final episode a listen. It features rock-star Grady alumna Hayden Field. We talk about life after j-school and how success happens — something that is rather fitting for those of you graduating and leaving Athens in May.

Until next time!
